Installation: Princess Sita
This was a team effort to recreate a scene from Ramayana, an ancient Indian epic. In this scene, Princess Sita is being abducted by the ten headed demon-king Ravana. I was responsible for princess Sita's sculpture.
Car parts and metal scraps were cut, welded (with guidance from professional welders), woven together and painted to create the piece. The installation stands at roughly 8 feet tall.
An experiment where a clay model was modeled, a mold of the model was created using plaster of paris and then finally fiber cast. The final fiber cast model was then painted using metallic paint.
